The Fan 50 Plus is a circuit board that adds fan control features first innovated by
Dinosaur Electronics Inc. The standard furnace is controlled by a thermostat.

If you run out of propane in the middle of the night, the thermostat will never get hot
enough to shut the furnace off. Your furnace's fan will run all night and blow cold air
and or run your battery down unless you get up and shut it off.

Fan control works like this:
If you run out of propane and the flame goes out the "Fan control" furnace will detect
this and approximately 1-1½ minutes later shut the fan off. Both Suburban® and Atwood®/ Hydro-Flame® have come out with their version of "Fan control" furnaces.

The Fan 50 Plus will work right out of the box in these new furnaces or it can convert
an older standard DSI furnace to "Fan control" by simply using the supplied wires to connect the fan motor wire and time-delay relay to the circuit board and removing a
little jumper on the board.
